I have been always a person who gets entirely changed and influenced by whatever I see, may be a realistic daily soap (not Hindi daily soaps please! , there are some life changing Marathi daily soaps I follow and refer them as a part of my life) or a biopic!
And that's Aarti Amte.
Family :
Both of them are extremely humble and very simple. Watch any of their interviews they are like any other common people but definitely their work is not common at all.
Its been 38 years they are still living there. They have got happiness!

A doctor, son of Baba Amte who felt a part of world don't know what comfortable life mean - The Tribals, who don't have proper houses, no electricity, no post-pregnancy facilities, totally isolated from rest of the nation, till today they hunt and eat animals.
They could have achieved a lot going to any cities in the world and practicing their profession. But they chose to start a new life in one of the isolated tribal part near Gadchiroli, Maharashtra - "Hemalkasa".
Their was nothing just a land, and the tribals who thought they came there to harm them. And their new life started.
Before starting their story, let me tell how I know them.

1. @41:50 - 44:00 After completing MBBS, Baba Amte and and his two sons Prakash and Vikas went to Hemalkasa just for picnic as Baba said.
Baba, who was already a well known social worker and Magasaysay Awardee, who devoted his whole life working for people suffering from leprosy, felt the tribal people and their conditions are pathetic and asked young Prakash indirectly to take an important decision of them helping them.
2. @44:00 Prakash and Mandakini's love encounter.
3. @46:36 - 47:54 Marriage in Anandwan , same place where Baba served the leprosy patients.
4. @51:21 Life at Hemalkasa started, Government allotted the land.
5. @54:00- 57:00 A very seriously diseased person was being treated by tribals by killing a child in the name of God. Prakash and Mandakini saw this and went to stop them, Mandakini told them she was a doctor and they can't kill a baby like this, the person needs a treatment. The tribals didn't listen. Prakash said this is all superstition, and asked the guy who was doing all this, to do anything on him and he will believe him and let them do whatever they were doing.
And nothing happens to Prakash.
6.@59:27 - 01:04:33 The tribals, who didn't listen to the Amte, now brought the diseased person to them. And finally, they got their first patient.
Tribals didn't understand Marathi and Amte didn't understand tribal's language. Tribals didn't know, who doctors are? The first patient gets cured, on this there is dialogue which says "...and this way, the adivasis discovered a doctor in us."
7. @1:10:24 - 1:11:45 Winter Season, the tribals had no good clothes, Prakash saw them shivering in the cold in Decembers and told Mandakini "They are suffering with cold outside, I have no right to wear full clothes." and from that day you can see any of his Hemalkasa's interviews, he never wore full clothes.
8. @1:13:59 - 1:15:00 Mandakini gave birth to their first child in Nagpur's Hospital, Prakash got this news. The person who got this news suggested Prakash to leave immediately for Nagpur. Prakash said "There are doctors with her, he has many patients suffering from Maleria and Typhoid here, they need me more." On this the man asked what he should tell Mandakini ? Prakash said "What will you tell, till today without saying anything she have understood everything, she will understand, don't say anything."
9. @01:15:35- 01:16:36 A tribal comes with a baby girl asks Amte to please take care of the baby as her mother died while giving her birth and will take her back after 2 months. Amte named her Aarti.

** This scene was specially appreciated by Dr.Mandakini Amte. The actress playing her role Sonali Kulkarni did it so deeply that Dr.Mandakini said she could relate the exact emotions once again.
I loved Sonali Kulkarni's acting in this scene, just outstanding!
After 2 months Aarti's father came to take her back, Mandakini who was in fond of Aarti by now cried and refused to give her back.

Tribals came with a pregnant lady, told Amte she is unable to deliver and only one hand is out. They ask them to please help. Amte tells we have to do Operation to save both child and mother but they don't have required material for it. Tribals say (by now they can understand their language) to
save the mother.
Prakash had to cut the baby's body parts into pieces in order to save the lady. After this Prakash breaks down saying "Just because we lack the equipments we had to cut someone into pieces ? When both of them had the right to live, who am I to kill someone."
** Dr. Prakash Amte told Nana Patekar, he did that scene very well and brought exact emotions he went through that time.

When government people threatened Amte to give all the animals to the government, he said he will give his Padma Shri back, if this happens.

A old woman was suffering from Cataract in both her eyes. No eye specialist was coming to Hemalkasa. Amte never did any eye surgery. He said he still will try. And he succeeds.

Amte were refused to give Visa because of financial reasons as his monthly income was Rs.1500 ,thinking them as jobless people. After knowing about him, who he was, the authority apolozised and gave him visa and he goes to United States.
15. @02:05:00 Movie ends with a beautiful speech, where Prakash tells his journey till now and asks Mandakini why she chose to be with him, when she knew he can't give anything to her in place like Hemalkasa.
Mandakini says,"You don't know Prakash, how rich you are, you have given me the satisfaction of living, what else one needs to live ?"
